A counseling Cell was established in 2016 in Psychology Deptt. of Ranchi University following the guidelines of UGC. The main objective of this cell was to provide quality counseling to the young generation of students about their psychological health and career prospects. Dr M.P. Hassan and Dr Meera Jayaswal, the teachers of the deptt were appointed as its In-Charge and Coordinator respectively. By outstanding effort, students were helped to work through their problems to develop self-awareness and overcome anxiety and stress. Two Psychologists who were appointed purely on “non-remuneration” basis Dr. Abha Ekka and Dr. Shashi Kapoor Prasad advised and assisted the students in the development of their educational plans, choice of educational plans and professions and also helped them to improve their abilities and skills. Counseling Cell is working with the same spirit to help the students know themselves better and find effective solutions to their problems and that too without paying any kind of cost. M. A. in Counseling Psychology A professional counselor provides individuals the opportunity to offer hopes and transformation. Ranchi University, Ranchi is offering M. Presently, the semester-II of session- 2021 - 2022 is going on.
